Ready, Set, KICK!

Saturday was our first day of soccer.
WARNING:  LOTS of pictures!  (By request of the grandparents.)

This is Andrew's third year to play soccer, and I must say his game was really exciting to watch.  The kids all seem to have the hang of it and are really starting to understand.

And new this year, check out that cute coach on the end!  Andrew is thrilled to have Phillip coaching his team this year.

His team, the Heat.
They did great...even though the league technically does not keep score at this age, all the parents and kids do....we won....6 to 4!

Good game #5!!!

Right after Andrew's game, we headed over to Aiden's game.  This is his FIRST year to play, and has been looking forward to it for so long.  He was SO excited to put on his uniform.  He is playing with 4K through Kindergarten.  He is actually only 3K, but because of when his birthday falls, he is able to play - but this also means that he is the smallest one on his team.  No worries, though - he definitely holds his own out there!

I LOVE this picture.  Aiden is the one in the middle...the one with the short little legs.

His team is called the Rhinos.

So earlier in this post, I said that Andrew's game was exciting to watch because the kids are really getting the hang of the game and starting to understand.  Aiden's game was very exciting to watch, but not for the same reason!  These kids were adorable to watch.....but at this age let's just say they have not yet learned the finer points of the game!  But hey, you have to start somewhere!  And they all had an absolute blast.

He was so excited to finally be playing on his own team.

Cheering on his teammates.

He was so cute!  His body language and expressions were priceless.

His turn to do the throw in.

The picture below looks innocent enough...I wish my fingers had been a little quicker on the camera button!  If they had, this is what it would have caught instead:  He was walking off the field because it was time to sub out.  He then proceeded to put his fingers in his ears, wave his hands and stick his tongue out at the other team.  (You know, the classic "nana nana booboo" sign!)  It was hilarious and mortifying all at the same time.  Phillip and I did talk to him afterwards and let him know that was not very polite and explained that we want to have good sportsmanship.  My little clown!

Love this one...helping the coach make sure the team knows which direction to kick the ball.

The Rhinos won!  4 to 2
Good game #23!

After the game, one of the moms came up to us and said, "He is SO entertaining!"
Yes, that's him!
