Andrew's BAD Day

Well, today probably will NOT go down in the books as one of Andrew's favorite days. Let me explain. Today our Sunday School class held a block party at the local mission in an effort to share the love of Christ with the community. (Meant to take pictures, but forgot my camera!) The local mission had blocked off the parking lot and we had games, music, bible story, craft and food. Well, Andrew was having a great time playing, but slipped on the pavement and skinned his knee. Not too big of a deal. He calmed down and started playing again. Later, he was running, and his foot slipped on some loose pieces of gravel and fell...this time, face first to the pavement. I was trying to put on a brave face for him, but I was terrified. Initially, it looked like he hit his head and face on the pavement. To make a long story short, he did NOT knock out any teeth and his teeth did not come out through his top lip, thankfully! However, what he was left with was a very bruised, swollen, and scratched lip and mouth.

Such a cutie, swollen lip and all!

Well, as if that had not been bad enough, after we got home, the boys all rode to Sonic to get us some drinks. Andrew had just had a bath and wanted to ride in his "piggies" (i.e., barefoot). Poor thing got his foot caught in the van door when he got home. His foot is a little bruised, but seems to be okay. In fact, we decided to get his train set out and that seemed to make it all better. He was hopping around like nothing had happened.
I know with TWO BOYS these accidents are bound to happen...but all in one day??
Thankfully, Andrew and Aiden are snuggled in bed and looking forward to a better day tomorrow!

Here are just a few pics of everyone playing with Andrew's train set...most definitely the highlight of his day.
Daddy trying to configure the GeoTrax. Simple enough for a two year old to do but complicated enough for over-achieving adults like Phillip and I who try to use each and every piece! All of you GeoTrax owners know what I am talking about!!

Aiden decided he would help unload the box...Oh, only if my arm was just a little longer!

My boys!!

Aiden, you cannot operate and drive the train with your mouth!

Poor Grady...just exhausted and needed a break from all of the action.
