"Muddy" Ball

This past weekend, we were excited to have Nona and Gumpa drive down to see Andrew's Buddy Ball Game. We had planned during the week, weather permitting, for them to come see the game. Well, we knew there was a "chance" of thunderstorms on Friday. We checked the weather before they left Friday afternoon and it was bright and sunny here. Just after they left Memphis to drive down, a TERRIBLE storm hit Memphis and Olive Branch. Thankfully, they missed the storm. However, the storm did do some damage to some friends homes. Thankfully, though, everyone we know was safe. Nona and Gumpa got here just in time for dinner at Andrew's favorite place in town...Pizza Inn. Andrew ate a great dinner to get ready for his big game.

Aiden, showing off for the grandparents!

Well, during dinner, the biggest, blackest cloud came overhead. The wind started blowing, and we had a brief shower. (Nothing like what they got north of here.) We tried explaining to Andrew that if it rained, he might not get to play his Buddy Ball game. Since it only rained a little bit, we decided to head to the ballpark after dinner to see if the game was still on.
Here is Andrew in the car on the way to see if we were still playing. Can't you just see the frustration on that little face?? After all, he had spectators to impress! We MUST play!

Well, the other team did not come due to the rain, but several of our players did show up. The field was fine since it only rained briefly. We decided to let our players hit a few times and Phillip hit a few balls to them in the field for them to catch. The kids were fine with this and Andrew was excited because Nona and Gumpa still got to see him "play." After a bit, he was ready to go home anyway, so that Nona and Gumpa could play with all of his toys.

The boys were very excited because Nona and Gumpa brought some happies that BecBec and Mr. Gary sent for them. Here is Andrew opening his. He got a John Deere puzzle and a new book for his Tag pen. And a cool shirt for the fourth of July.

Aiden was very excited about his big bag, too! Here he is looking inside....

Then he decided to dive right in!

Aiden was very excited about his new toy and red, white and blue clothes, too!

Thanks, BecBec and Mr. Gary!!!
Nona and Gumpa spent the night on Friday before heading back home on Saturday. Andrew was excited for everyone to watch a movie...he wanted to show them Ratatouille.

The boys had a great time playing with them and we were so glad they came!!
